About Remco

REMCO--the towing experts--began in 1978 with the introduction of the Drive Shaft Coupling (DSC). In 1984, we introduced the Lube Pump (LP) and in 1989, the Axel Lock (AL). We have been answering towing questions from all over the U.S. and Canada (even Australia, Mexico, Germany, Saudi Arabia and England, too) ever since. Today we average 16,000 phone calls each month about towing. We can answer questions that no one else in the country can even think about.

With these products we enable RV’ers to tow their vehicles behind their motor homes with all four wheels on the ground -worry free. Our product line adapts to approximately 80% of the vehicles in the market today, whether they are front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, or four-wheel drive. The Drive Shaft Coupling is for rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive vehicles. The Axel Lock and Lube Pump are for the front-wheel drive vehicles. The Lube Pump has also been tested and approved for a limited number of rear-wheel drive General Motor’s and Chrysler Corporation vehicles.

REMCO is the leader in the manufacturing of specialized products for towing automatic transmission vehicles. Thousands of satisfied customers have established REMCO’s enviable reputation for the highest standards of reliability and service for years or carefree towing with maximum safety and convenience.

We do have an exchange program available for the Drive Shaft Coupling and Axel Lock when a customer wishes to change vehicles.

Customers today are concerned about accumulating mileage on the towed vehicle (toad) when towing. There is, of coarse, no mileage accumulation with the Drive Shaft Coupling and Axel Lock. These two products disengage the drive train for towing and the vehicle is towed with the transmission in Park. This means there is no rotational movement in the transmission. The speedometer drive gears are not turning. Now that electronic speedometers have replaced the old cable-driven units, logging mileage is a thing of the past, even with the Lube Pump kits. The only exceptions are vehicles with the sensors on the front or rear wheels and the 1996 and newer Chrysler mini-vans.

As a compliment to our primary product line, we have a line of Taillight Wiring Kits (TLWK) that utilize the existing lights on the towed vehicle. This system isolates the rear lights for towing by using diodes, so that power does not feed back to the on-board computer systems of these modern vehicles, thus possibly causing a computer failure/burnout. This Taillight Wiring Kit is included with each Lube Pump kit at no additional charge, but not with the Drive Shaft Coupling or Axel Lock.

In addition to our REMCO-Tow Bar we also carry Blue Ox, Demco, and Roadmaster tow bars and mounting brackets. If you do not already have a source supply of tow bar equipment, let us fill that need, too.

With over 200,000 units on the road today being and countless worry-free travelers, REMCO continues its longstanding reputation as THE TOWING EXPERTS.

“The thing that REMCO decided early on was that we were going to make a quality product that we didn’t have to make any excuses for, and if we did have a problem, we were going to go out of our way to make sure people were taken care of in a fair way, and deal with it in that regard. And, hopefully, that’s what’s happening still.”
